…For years I had the idea to draw the ‘Utrecht’.
One day with beautiful light, lots of meaning and a special charcoal pencil, borrowed from my wife, I put myself behind the drawing board.
Days of practice for the right pencil touch, techniques for light and dark, drawing flowing lines and the right pencil stroke.

The result.

Of course, my favourite ship had to be well entrusted to the paper.

Now there are more people who draw their and my favourite ship, like Evert Sikkema.

Another artist.

It remains a beautiful and fine ship that continues to inspire.
